John Wood co-founded Erthwrks Inc. in October of 2007. As the Erthwrks Inc. Senior Partner/Technical Director, John is responsible for implementing and maintaining the highest level of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures; ensuring compliance with the quality management program, ensuring that employees are trained with respect to quality system responsibilities, investigating quality issues, performing quality audits and surveillances, ensuring that quality issues are addressed in a timely fashion, implementing effective corrective actions, and ensuring that all documentation complies with the quality objectives of Erthwrks. John Wood also regularly acts as a Project Manager on many projects with thorough knowledge of all EPA methodologies.
John Wood grew up in Houston, Texas and attended The University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. While attending college, John worked as the lab manager at Cubix Corporation. As lab manager, John attained the skills and expertise in all forms of laboratory analysis techniques and procedures and also developed new, more efficient and accurate sampling and analysis techniques. Upon graduation, John started his career in field emission testing. Specializing in manual sampling techniques, John became one of the leading project managers for power plant and refinery testing that often requires analysis for particulate matter, halogens/halides, dioxins/furans, sulfuric acid, formaldehyde, metals, and a myriad of other compounds.
